These terms cover your use of the grocery.ai app and this website. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
What grocery.ai does
grocery.ai scores grocery products against nutrition data, personalises that score to goals and restrictions you tell it about, and tracks prices at Woolworths and Coles so it can tell you when something you watch actually gets cheaper.
Accuracy — please read this one
Do not rely on grocery.ai for allergen or medical decisions. Always read the physical packaging. Ingredient lists, allergen statements and nutrition panels come from data the retailers publish. That data can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, and a manufacturer can change a recipe before any of it catches up. The pack in your hand is the authority; this app is not.
Prices are the same story. We record what a retailer publishes, usually daily. A price can change between our reading it and your reaching the shelf, and a retailer's own “was” price is their claim, not ours. Nothing here is an offer to sell, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for Woolworths or Coles.
Scores are an opinion formed from published nutrition data. They are general information and are not medical, dietary or health advice. Talk to a health professional about anything that matters.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@groceryai.thesahilraj.com if you think someone else has access to it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, and doing so deletes the data attached to it.
Cost
grocery.ai is free. There is no subscription, no paid tier, no trial, no in-app purchase and no advertising. Nothing in the app is gated behind a payment, and we do not collect payment details of any kind.
Using it reasonably
Please do not:
- scrape, bulk-download or resell the catalog, prices or scores;
- attack, overload or probe the service, or try to reach data that is not yours;
- use the app to break a law, or to build a competing product from its data.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Product names, images and prices belong to their retailers and manufacturers; the app, its scoring and its price record are ours, and these terms give you a personal licence to use them, not to own them.
Availability
The app depends on retailer data and on a nightly crawl, and is provided as it is. It may be unavailable, and a price record may have gaps. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
Liability
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including a right to a replacement or refund for a major failure. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Beyond those rights, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. The app is provided free of charge.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so in the app before it applies, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
